Experience 

1969-1971 Radar Repairman, U.S. Army Signal Corp. Was one of a two man team, subordinate to a Warrant Officer, responsible for the repair and preventive maintenance of the AN/MPQ-4 radar set. The set consisting of a synchronizer system, a transmitter, power supply, etc., had to be tested and calibrated on a regularly scheduled basis and prior to operation. Responsible for upkeep of records related to job. Set up and executed scheduled preventive maintenance of the associated generator. 
1971-1980 Clerk, Social Security Administration Processed social security applications and request of employee’s employment records for federal, state, and local government agencies. Organized and set up control unit for newly established Black Lung Unit (1977-1980) 
1980-1981 Auto Mechanic, Car club incorporated Processed social security applications and request of employee’s employment records for federal, state, and local government agencies. Organized and set up control unit for newly established Black Lung Unit (1977-1980) 
1981-1985 Computer Attendant, C. & P. TELEPHONE Co. Of MARYLAND Responsible for entry of non-automatic production and non-production jobs through the UCC-7 Job Entry System/2. Responsible for handling and care of magnetic tapes, tape drives and crt’s in relationship to an I.M.S./V.S. environment. 
1985-1987 E.S.S FRAME ATTENDANT, C. & P. TELEPHONE CO. OF MARYLAND Duties included running jumpers on both conventional and cosmic frames. Maintained a working knowledge of #1a through #5ESS Central Office. I have experience running cable from underground cable vault to vertical main distributing frame and making connections in frame cable blocks. Ran cable from S.A.R.T.S. on V. D.F. to S.M.A.S. on horizontal main distributing frame (H.M.D.F.). 
1987-1991 SERVICE TECHNICIAN, C. & P. TELEPHONE CO. OF MARYLAND Responsible for installation and repair of communication service. Test, run and connect lines between central office and subscriber station. Trained in all facets of related safety procedures. Experience with V.O.M., signal generator and other related digital communications equipment. Trained to have good verbal communication skills for sales of service and equipment. I had a working knowledge of digital media from subscriber station through central office to subscriber station. 
1995-1998 COMPUTER LAB SUPPORT, aLLEGANY COLLEGE OF MARYLAND I was responsible for the maintenance, installation and repair of computers, multimedia equipment and software in the student labs. 1
1998-1999 COMPUTER TECHNICIAN, TCI COMPUTER SYSTEMS Repaired computers and HP printers in a three state area. 
2000-2002 ACADEMIC COMPUTER CLASSROOM AND LAB TECHNICIAN, GARRETT COMMUNITY COLLEGE I was responsible for the maintenance and repair of computers in the student computer labs. Based on faculty and staff needs. I tested, recommended, installed and maintained software in the computer labs. 
2002-2006 SUPPORT SERVICES ADMINISTRATOR, GARRETT COMMUNITY COLLEGE This position has overall responsibility for interfacing with college users of IT hardware and software to identify, track and pursue responses to requests for related support services.  This responsibility encompasses oversight and technical support for academic computer labs.  Operates a Help Desk service for capturing, recording, tracking and responding to requests for services from college administrative and academic staff. Interfaces with the college’s user community to determine needs for support services and to keep apprised of efforts to respond thereto. Coordinates with IT staff members to ensure requests for service support are followed through and responded to. Answers technical questions and provides guidance when possible for resolving hardware and software operating problems. Works with designated area technical administrators to coordinate response to service needs and keep informed on new and emerging developments. Schedules and provides oversight for part-time and student labor technical support in academic labs. Provides operational support, including trouble shooting and resolving hardware and software problems in the labs. Provides instructional support to students and faculty in the operation of computer technology in the college computer labs. Assists students in computer labs with computer software applications. Provides for security in the labs. Monitors student usage of lab facilities. REPORTING TO THIS POSITION: Part-time Lab Technician Student Lab Support Personnel 
2006-2015 SOFTWARE SUPPORT TECHNICIAN, GARRETT COMMUNITY COLLEGE This position is responsible for supporting the college community with its computer software and hardware needs and the maintenance of the college’s software compliance. This position is also responsible for the organization, monitoring, and reporting regarding college software compliance. Utilize the Help Desk System to capture, record and respond to requests for hardware and software support service from the college user community in accordance with IT Help Desk procedures. Provide user operational support, including troubleshooting and resolving hardware and software problems. Provide instructional support to students and the college user community in the operation of computer technology at the college providing training or written documentation where required. Install, configure and maintain operating systems and software applications college wide in compliance with software licensing agreements. Assist with the planning, design and research and acquisition of new or upgraded computer software. Maintain current knowledge of hardware and software technology and recommends modifications as necessary to the Dean of Information Technology. Maintain complete and up to date documentation relating to software installation, configuration and maintenance and software license compliance. Assist in the development and maintenance of procedures to support IT policies. Train IT team member designated as the backup to this position. Performs other related duties as assigned in accordance with qualifications.

I have been a supportive member at Metropolitan A.M.E. Church for over twenty-five years and served as a Trustee, Steward and choir member. 

African Methodist Episcopal Church Steward Board 

  • To be qualified for this office, one must be of solid piety, know and love the word of God, the African American Methodist Episcopal Church doctrine, and the Doctrine and Discipline of the African Methodist Episcopal Church. He or she must be fruitful and of good natural or acquired ability to transact the spiritual and temporal business of the church. 

African Methodist Church Trustee Board 

  • The Trustees shall manage all the temporal concerns of the church not otherwise provided for and shall have a treasurer elected by the Board. 
  • They shall guard, for the connection, all real estate, churches, parsonage, schools and any other properties obtained by the local church. 
  • They shall make improvements upon the property or real estate when authorized to do so by a majority of the legal members of the church. 
  • They shall secure by purchase or hire, a house for the Pastor’s family and furnish it. 

Resident Advisory Board 

As a resident in the Benjamin Banneker Housing Complex and their representative on the RAB I was a member of a group that advised the Housing Authority of the City of Cumberland about its Annual and 5-Year PHA Plans. That meant looking at the plans and giving feedback.

The Cumberland Housing Alliance Inc. is an agency operating within the Cumberland Housing Group.  The mission of the Cumberland Housing Alliance is to address the housing and community economic development needs of low to moderate income residents of Cumberland and Allegany County. By developing affordable housing, creating home ownership opportunities, ensuring long-term availability of developable land, and community economic development activities, the Cumberland Housing Alliance will improve economic opportunities for the citizens of the region.
